hipsta-food

One of my favorite apps is the Hiptamatic photo app. A few months ago they released a limited addition "Foodie" Hipstapac. "Hipstapacs" are lens, film and flash combos that you can buy to get different effects when you take photos. The Foodie pac is a Lofus lens and Catelli's film. This combo takes really fantastic food photos, considering the light is good and the food is colorful.

The photos are over-saturated but in a warm and appetizing way. There is also a bit of blurring around the edges to give it the photos that shallow depth-of field look that is so desired in food photography. The whites are extra-white, and the colors are so vibrant. The center is in focus, and usually really good focus. Here are some of the most Mouth-watering photos I've taken with the Hiptamatic Foodie Pac!

delicious showers

My obsession for food doesn't stop at eating and cooking. I love bath and beauty products that are full of delicious ingredients as well! Here are some of my favorite food-centric products that make for an indulgent smelling clean-up recipe.

Pretty much everything at LUSH is appetizing... it is one of my favorite stores. This soap is one of my all-time darlings from there... rich and foody without being too sweet or fruity. Plus, it's scrubby, due to the inclusion of the fig seeds.

Like I said, LUSH has many treats... I just tried this scrub... Lime, salt, coconut and VODKA! It's like rubbing a margarita on your face.

I don't have the most ideal hair. It breaks easy, yet I need to blowdry it if I want to have any kind of volume or shape to it. I am always on the look for products to help add strength, elasticity, moisture and shine to my locks. This has egg whites in it to help give hair a bit of extra stretchiness/strength. It also has the perfect coconut smell... creamy instead of fruity. Yum!

This leave-in conditioning spray smells a bit fruity... nothing overpowering. It's quite pleasant. The avocado and other fruit oils are not too heavy and really do add shine to my hair.

Looks exactly like Honey. Smells exactly like rich milk chocolate. *slurp* This is pretty intense moisturiser... I tend to only use it in the winter when my skin is extra-dry, and even then I have to use it sparingly... it's oil, afterall. So wonderful.

Palmer's is one of my favorite product lines. So many "butters" - shea, cocoa, coconut. This lip balm tastes like a gourmet candy, and feels great on your lips... the peppermint gives a slight tingle.

Burt's Bees is another go-to brand for natural beauty products that are food-centric. This conditioner has a refreshing tart smell... it actually smells exactly like sweet tarts candies!

I have a major crush on Possets perfumes... I go through periods where I read through perfume descriptions obsessively on scent-maker sites like BPAL (see my post about food scents on Iron Stef from years ago). Possets are known for having a really nice vanilla base... very creamy and not overwhelming... you can't go wrong getting any of their foodie scents. Gingerbread Whorehouse is my favorite. Besides an awesome name, this perfume has just the right blend of sweet, spicy, clean and rich. I'm kind of afraid people are going to take a bite out of my wrist when I wear it.

A drugstore classic, I always love how soft my face feels after scrubbing it with this. I wouldn't recommend the acne one, though... much too drying... even oily skin needs to retain some of it's natural oils. The original formula is plenty exfoliating and cleansing.

Another classic, this thick green clay mask feels so so wonderful on your face. Cooling and cleansing, this is a must-have product for spa-nights.
